We thought we would collect together some of our favourite designs and let you see them so you might be inspired for your wedding.
So without further delay here we go .....
- Using an upside down umbrella the flowers beneath it seem like they are pouring out of it. The key to this working was actually the lighting of the venue itself. Remember to consider these things when planning your day - there are specialist vendors who provide event lighting for such occasions.
- Here the couple went for an industrial feel and actually constructed a metal frame that stood around the table itself, they then suspended old lightbulbs at different levels. This set up takes a lot of time to prepare before the wedding day but the advantage is there is less set up time on the actual day and this will be one display that will be effective throughout the whole day including the evening.
- This dislpay is perfect for a rustic wedding. Here a stunning piece of entwined wood has been scavanged and has been decorated by wrapping ivy and twigs around it. The underside has been decorated with hanging wooden lanterns, old bottles and jars full of simple white flowers.
- From rustic to ultra modern, geometrics are a huge trend this year (see this tost here). This wedding couples together different geometric structures made out of metal and paper and are then adorned with simple pink and white flowers. These are a particular favourite of mine as it really is such a unique approach to a wedding.
- This is a piece of art in itself! A swing like mechanism has been constructed and the whole length of it has been covered with a spray of flowers, but what is interesting about this is the use of ferms and wild orchids. The whole piece feels incredibly organic as if this was actually a wild woodland. It fits in so well with the glamourous styling on the table below and around the venue itself.
- For a classic approach stick to white flowers and foilage. Here you see huge blooms coupled with church candles on top, whilst allowing glass spherical tea tree light holders to hang elegantly on the underside. The line of flowers is then mirrored on the table itself to add the sense of symmetry. This would be brilliant for a smaller intimate wedding where you simply have one long dining table.
- This is particulalry stunning and it's nice to see some suggestions for circular table. This display will be worthy of a big budget wedding. Simply put it consits of large rings piled with white and green floristry then suspended on invisble wire (you could use fishing line!) are individually attached flower heads. It gives a cascading effect to the display as if it is raining flowers.
- Again the swing mechanism comes into effect here but this time the florals are incredible bright and fun. Here the display included a message which has been created in metal and spray. I am currently obsessed with messages and signs at weddings and I think this is so effective that I would love this at my own wedding!
- This wedding shunned flowers completely (probably due to the fact that flowers are one of the biggest outlays you will get for a wedding - it's recommended you spend 10-15% of your overal budget for wedding on flowers alone!) Instead the couple created a visual display by using fabric and cardboard to create a cloud that they then suspend fabric butterflies from - giving it a light airy feel to the day.
- Paper Pom poms are particularly prominent in Summer 2015 weddings as they are so cost effective and can create some brilliant backdrops for your day. Make sure you combine colours effectively - My advice is to search Pinterest for colour ideas then you can get a palette sorted out that you should stick too. If for example you threw in some reds into this subtle colour scheme below it would look totally misplaced.
- For a particularly budget friendly idea why not try hanging a row of wine glasses at different heights. Using utensils and odd items can also tell the story of the couple. This particular wedding had huge influence on the food and drink so why not try something a little bit kooky - It just might look fantastic!
- For the ultimate personal touch you could try usnig an old step ladder that you can suspend pictures of yourself together from. This tells the story of your love through images - which as you are probably aware is what makes us tick. You can also make it even more about love and hang X and O' s from it symbolising lots of kisses.
As you can see there are so many possible options out there so why not start to think more visually about your day and really go for it with a suspended display.
