If you are a fan you may or may not know that one of the biggest trends in wedding cakes industry this year by a country mile has been the meteoric rise in the number of "Naked Cakes" being used as the happy couples showstopper on their day.
Couples have been shunning the traditional stacked tiers of fondant cake and have resurected the use of classic cake recipe using by past generations.
These cakes can then be flavoured more individually and can include so cool and crazy taste combination but generally the trend uses classic summer fruits and simple preservatives for the filling between layers.
But how could you have a naked cake and make it more autumnal?
Well we may just have the answer for you....
During our rounds on the interenet this week we happened to spot this little beauty!
The amount of decoration is more minimal than most naked caked but here they have chosen to follow more autumnal fair. Think of the colours of autumn and what we can forage from our back garden so why not use cherry allnside redcurrant. Then go really different and use figs, they create great detail when slices open.
Now for an idea we must confess we have never seen before and quite frankly its genius....Poached pear in red wine!
This combination brings together such deep sumptuous tones that hark back to times of harvest and the change in colours we see during the changes around us in nature.
