So it''s the start of the winter wedding season and you are stuck for great ideas on adding that extra sparkle to your day.
Are you trying to add some individual twists to your day but are looking to keep your spending under control?
Then boy do we have a great DIY project for you...... twig candle holders.
This cool little project is incredibly simple and the great part is the components are incredibly cheap to buy in bulk so you will be able to flood your venue with candlelight - which for this time of year when the nights close in sooner is a must!
You will need:
- lots of sticks and twigs (make sure you have dried them out first!)
- glass tea light holders
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- a pair of scecateers
The first thing you need to do is gather you sticks and twigs - for this to work more organically make sure you have lots of different twig shapes as it will feel more randomised.
Measure the height of the glass tealight holder. Whatever the height is add on around 1/2 a centimeter on this. We found that having the extra length means that when you apply the twigs to the circumference of the holder it will overlap slightly thus hiding the glass edge of the holder.
To attach the twigs to the glass simply add a dot of hot glue from your glue gun to the twig and place this on the glass. We advise wearing protective gloves for this as the glue gun can get extremely hot and you won't want to bun yourself with it!
Continue all the way around the holder until you have your finished product.
Simply add your tealight, light it and your done!
If you wanted to upscale this to larger candles simply buy larger glass holders and collect larger sticks/twigs.
For a twist why not add a touch of glitter to theone end of your twigs to create a sprakling rim to your holder.
So go on and make yourelf these fantastic candle holders - you will blow your guests away!
