If you are like us you purely can't get enough of the stuff!
So todays DIY wedding project will be perfect as wedding treats/favours for your guests..... Double Chocolate Snowflakes.
You are going to need the following ingredients:
- Dark Chocolate
- White Cholcate
-otoed and white candy canes
For this recipe we are going to need to used a silicon based snoflake mould. If you want to adapt the shapes for other projects or different times of the year then you simply need to use an appropriate mould.
First thing you need to do is to get a saucepan and a bowl that rest over the top of the pan safely. Fill the saucepan with water below the bowls base and let it boil. Once the water has boiled add your dark chocolateto it in pieces and wait for it to melt slowly - don't be tempted to melt it quickly as it may burn and make the chocolate taste bitter.
Once the chocolate is melted pour into the mould evenly and set aside to harden in your fridge for an hour or until it is solid. Whilst this is chilling place your candy canes in a dry tea towl and smash the cane with a rolling pin into small pieces.
Next you simply repeat the melting process using white chocolate, you then pour this on top of your dark chocolate moulds evenly. The final florish is to sprinkle the broken candy cane on top of the white chocolate and let this all set.
Once chilled you simply remove the snowflakes effortlessly out of the moulds and there you have it, double chocolate snowflakes!
