Who's looking for that extra little sparkle on their wedding day and want to inject some added fun into the day?
Prop hire is becoming an ever growing wedding trend that allows you to style your event perfectly without shelling out and having a house rammed full of leftover wedding items.
Today we talk to one of the freshest companies in the South West - Sparkle Jar Events - as we ask founder Nina Taylor all about how they can help you added some much need style to your day.
Hi Nina can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, including several years as a wedding coordinator. Working with customers to create their special day perfect is something I love and thrive on!
What made you get into the wedding prop hire industry?
While working with brides to help them create their perfect day as a wedding coordinator, it soon transpire that it was the decorative and creative aspect of that role that I enjoyed the most. This was the main force that has inspired me to start my own business focusing on sourcing and providing products to hire that help to make a couples big day that extra bit special.
What kind of products are on offer?
We offer a wide variety of props to hire. Particular highlights are our Light up letters, including LOVE, BAR, arrows and stars. I also have a selection of dessert and candy bar items, bar and drinkware items as well as rustic vintage crates that can be used to add some fun interactive experiences into your wedding reception.
Would you say your products fit a particular style of wedding or are the options limitless?
The products I offer tend to be for couples that are looking to create a fun and nostalgic experience for their guests. They are looking for something a little bit unique that makes the day memorable. Our products will fit into most wedding styles as the couple can cater to what they want.
What has been the most popular trend when it comes to this years upcoming wedding?
By far the most popular trend for my couples has to be fun vintage weddings, the make do and mend approach allows the bride and groom to use items they love and these integrate perfectly with our hire items.
Do you have any exciting plans coming up for the business?
Absolutely! We are planning on extending the range considerably and want to focus on adding lots of vibrant colours into the line up with lots of fun new trends so watch this space!
Are there any particular issues that clients need to be aware of when it comes to prop hire?
The largest piece of advice I always communicate to my clients is that before getting carried away with your style consider what the venue you are holding your event at. Are there any limitations or restrictions to what you can and can't do? It is so easy to end up getting swept away in the wonder that is Pinterest but Venues often have guidelines that clients will have to follow so make sure you check all of this out first before committing to anything.
And finally, what advice would you give to potential clients in regards to the use of props on your wedding day?
Rather then spreading lots of little props all over the venue space, use statement pieces that will create much more impact. Also, use pieces that are timeless and that you love, that way when you look back at your photos in years to come you will still love them just as much as you love one another!
