ONe of the largest trends for 2016 wedding is the fragrant floral crowns.
These work well for Boho, festival and vintage styled weddings and have been growing in popularity over the past few seasons.
It is also something that you could make on your own. You will need:
- Flowers and foliage
- Floristry wire (flexible)
- Floristry Tape
- super glue
- some ribbon to compliment your flowers
Firstly you will take a few length of your floristry wire. You are going to create a strong circle that will form the base of the crown and you simply twist one wire around a group of wires to form the circle..
You want to take the foliage and form the natural base for the crown so make sure you choose flexible young vines and flowers that are light in weight as if it is too heavy it will struggle to remain attached.. To keep the ends in place uuse a little bit of floristry tae which you will eventaully cover in ribbon.
To keep the flower in place use a strip of wire and put straight through the base of the bloom and twist arround the base of the crown. Our advice is to keep checking the form of the crown constantly so you can see how the form of the crown is looking.. in our opinion the asymetric approach looks beeter than having flowers all in one layer right the way around the crown.
To complete the crown use the ribbon to cover the ends of the wire by wrapping it around with some of the superglue.
And there you have it, a stunning floral headpiece for your wedding day.
