Nicky and Craig were a great couple we got to meet earlier this year at the Frome Wedding Emporium Fair. Ahead of shooting their vintage-styled wedding (more on that coming soon on the blog!), this lovely couple chose to have an engagement shoot with us as a warm-up for their big day.
Nicky and Craig live in the stunning countryside near Foxcote, and for their engagement shoot opted to make the most out of their wonderful rural surroundings.
From the outset, it was really important for Nicky and Craig that their engagement shoot and wedding told their story in full form start to finish. Nicky has lived in the area her whole life, and she knows the beautiful farmlands and woodland around her home like the back of her hand! The family has a love for all things equestrian, and so we decided to really pay homage to these roots during this shoot.
Nicky and Craig’s beautiful dogs – Saber & Masie also took part in this shoot, and both were very excited for our trek through the beautiful fields and farmlands. Very well behaved, the pair even posed for a few photos with us to celebrate the happy couple, making use of some cute props we brought along as well as even dressing for the occasion with their matching bow-tie ensembles! Working with animals is always fun, as you never quite know what you are going to get on the day, but I was pleased to report that this pair definitely had star quality!
It was really great seeing how Nicky and Craig relaxed into the shoot, and as always the engagement shoot is such a great way to really prepare a couple for how it feels on the wedding day when being photographed. Its lovely to see how any anxieties and feelings of being ‘posed’ disappear as they relax into their environment and I was so pleased to be able to capture some really natural reactions and the real love shared between them
A few weeks after this shoot, I had the pleasure of shooting the big day itself – a vintage extravaganza not to be missed! We can’t wait to show you more on the blog in a few weeks time so stay tuned!
