Emma and Dan were a couple that were extra close to out hearts; they were the first couple to officially ask for a consultation with us way back in early 2015 when we first set-up Always You Photography. While we have had the absolute pleasure of meeting several couples in the time since then and shooting their special days, it was so lovely to remember that very first meet up while shooting their beautiful ceremony at Cripps Barn and see first-hand the love story they talked about during that first consultation in their home in Bristol come to fruition. With a baby joining the family in the time between the wedding and the consultation, their day really did feel like a truly family affair!
I started the day by arriving at Cripps Barn early to shoot in and around this beautiful Cotswold stone-set barn in the stunning countryside near Bibury, and was spoilt for choice with the array of beautiful rustic styling and florals that the couple chose for their special day.
I then headed to The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns to shoot some photos of Emma departing for the venue to meet her waiting family and friends – and of course her husband-to-be!
After capturing the beautiful, intimate ceremony, we moved outside to start taking the couple’s group shots, as well as their own couple shots in and around the grounds. The feeling on the day was so happy and relaxed, and we were made to feel so welcome by the guests - so group shots went of without a hitch and I was able to spend a nice amount of time with the happy couple enjoying that special time post-ceremony just enjoying those precious moments and the fact that they just got married!
During the wedding breakfast, I took some time to capture some more of the beautiful styling details of the day and take some creative still-life shots using the couple’s wedding and engagement rings. I really enjoyed shooting the rustic aesthetic of the venue and combining it with the unique and thoughtful styling flourishes the couple had chosen to decorate the space.
The evening reception really had a summertime feel, with the warm weather meaning that guests were able to fully take advantage of the beautiful grounds of the venue and enjoy the outdoor party games with the warming glow of the fire pits and pretty twinkling lights of the gardens. Truly magical!
As a relatively new business, looking back it was so gratifying that Emma and Dan took the plunge and put their faith in us to shoot their special day. – and we were so happy that we got to see the wedding of their dreams become a reality and that we got to be a part of it to help tell this chapter of their love story. We’re sure this beautiful pair and their new family have many more adventures and many more stories to come!
