Tim Burton inspired, with a gothic victorian twist - Amy & Craig's special day was a beautiful example of their shared loves in life.
From day one, we always knew that Amy and Craig’s special day would be a great one. When we first met Amy at Chosen Wedding Fair in Bristol last October and she told us about her plans for a Tim Burton-inspired wedding day and we discussed various bits of Tim Burton movie trivia, we just knew we were going to get on like a house on fire
As well as a huge passion for music, both Amy and Craig are huge Tim Burton fans and wanted to bring influences of this into their wedding day with a Victoriana vintage feel. Craig’s family have Scottish roots, and was undecided when we met up for our consultation as to whether or not to go for the traditional kilted attire – we are pleased to say that he did, and looked very suave too!
The stunning Pennard House, in East Pennard near Shepton Mallett served as the perfect backdrop for the Victorian Gothic Feel of their day. The imposing and beautiful 17th century structure has a genuine feeling of grandeur and history to it, with the array of grand reception rooms, stunning architecture and warm feeling providing a very welcoming space for any wedding. I started the day by capturing some shots of these beautiful grounds to really set the scene for the day!
In line with their Tim Burton-inspired theme, Amy and Craig came up with an array of beautiful styling flourishes, with a dark, moody yet colourful colour palette including purples, blacks and floral designs paying homage to their favourite films.
We also absolutely loved the small, personal touches Amy and Craig incorporated into the day – including paying homage to their own families special days with some special photos honouring their respective parent's weddings.
What made the day so memorable to us was the very genuine, grounded feeling of how Amy and Craig’s wedding was truly all about their own passions, interests and loves in life – reflecting the sheer joys of their lives together in a way that was so unique to them and so very beautiful.
